Sales Intern Crane

SUMMARY

The Sales Intern – Crane is an entry level position and a gateway to a career with the Nors Crane group. The ideal applicant has high organizational skills, the ability to work with various departments and customers, and the desire to progress in the Nors Crane Sales realm as a career path.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Sales Intern Crane is responsible for the following:
  • Assist with generating quotations, reports, invoices, and other documentation.
  • Maintain inventory records and monitor equipment status.
  • Rental and Sales support
  • Consignment, Used Equipment Inventory support.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Cross-training with other equipment employees to help, coverage and relief as required.
  • Facilitation of the sales process between Crane Sales Management and Territory Managers as they
    relate to the sale of the products represented by Nors in the Crane product line offerings.
  • Identify potential clients in the target market/regions and complete the appropriate research on the
    prospective client’s business and equipment needs.
  • Development and maintenance of current and new customer records within MS CRM. or applicable IT
    platforms.
  • Consistent inputting of Call reports.
  • Track Government opportunities in MERX and partner with Inside Sales and Territory managers to
    submit proposals.
  • Tracking – Keep good records within the approved programs utilized by the Nors Crane group.
  • Receive, and qualify inbound sales inquiries to convert leads to appointments so TM’s can respond to
    customers quickly and efficiently.
  • The Sales Intern Crane is also responsible for the maintenance of computer and hardcopy files as they
    relate to the Crane sales process.
  • Is responsible for the back-office sales administration, reconciliation of costs throughout the sales
    transaction, ensuring that units are delivered complete and according to schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of equipment inventory both in-stock and new incoming.
  • Regular reporting of inventory including sub-dealer consignment goods to both Strongco and
    manufacturer management.
  • Execution of all bailment agreements for sub-dealers.
  • Confirmation of equipment specifications.
  • Timely confirmation of input costs of quotations within a reasonable timeframe, as directed by the
    Inside Sales Coordinator.
  • Maintaining good working relationships with all suppliers.
  • Maintaining both equipment files and customer transaction files
  • Adhering to best practices as they relate to Nors’s guidelines.
  • Distribution of applicable sales related material to Territory Managers
  • Obtaining all credit and management related authorizations as they pertain to sales transactions.
  • Invoicing of both equipment sales and rental transactions.
  • Daily maintenance of equipment sales and rental backlog reports.
  • Timely processing and turnaround of quotations.
  • Cost control of inventory, and transportation.
  • Commitment to continuous learning

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

High school diploma, Post secondary degree

Particular Conditions

  • Must be able to travel when required
  • Work is performed in an office setting with the need to be in the shop and yard as required.
    Occasionally may need to visit customers and suppliers
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate
    manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course
    of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant
    environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, safety vest,
    and other protective equipment as required
