Crane Service Manager

SUMMARY

The Crane Service Manager is responsible for the daily operations and management of the Crane Service Department, including all applicable KPI’s and Metrics, as well as the Health and Safety of the employees, and is constantly striving for exceptional Customer Satisfaction levels. The candidate will ensure Technicians are effectively utilized, and our scheduled efficiently to meet customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall management of activities and personnel within the Service Department to ensure it is being run efficiently and profitably in accordance with the budget.
  • Primary liaison with the customer to diagnose the extent and type of service required including follow-up and dispatch mechanic to clients for repair.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety requirements are being strictly adhered to including toolbox meeting and inspections; for the goodwill of all, follow up company’s policy.
  • Providing recommendations/requests regarding hiring/dismissals/disciplining of service department staff.
  • Communicate clearly the extent of service required to all Service employees to ensure accurate and prompt responses.
  • Ensure staff are customer focused, professional and adequately trained to perform their functions.
  • Structure shop and field procedures to monitor the quality of work and drive customer satisfaction including dispatch to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries.
  • Ensure Technicians complete work in a timely fashion with minimum rework, striving for responsive customer delivery times.
  • Ensure customer accounts are in good standing before service staff creates customer orders to billing to avoid delays.
  • Address disputes with customers in a professional manner while representing the Company’s interests.
  • Organize and maintain the workshop, all tooling, and service trucks, to promote the safe and efficient execution of tasks.

EDUCATION/ TRAINING

  • Post-secondary diploma and/or relevant technical education & working experience;
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment technician with Mobile Crane expertise
  • 5 years as a journey person HET in the Mobile Crane industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and interacting with customers
  • Experience in both field and shop repair
  • WHMIS, site orientation and Safety Training is an asset.

Regular working hours + Overtime maybe required
